I'm not receiving DevelopmentAid alerts: what to do?

There're a few possible reasons why the DevelopmentAid alerts stopped being sent to your email address. Let's go through the check-list of the most common issues and their solutions:

 The customized alert contains keywords or filters, which conflict with each other. As a result, the alert is not sent because the system fails to identify any projects corresponding to the selected criteria.

The alert might end up in Spam/Junk folder instead of the Inbox. If you checked and noticed the DevelopmentAid alert in Spam/Junk, click on the alert and select the option "Not Spam", "Not Junk", or "Never Block Sender" depending on the email provider you are using.

The alert might be entirely blocked by your email provider/spam filters/security policy. The following method can help you to prevent the alerts from being blocked: you need to add the domain @developmentaid.info to the white list or list of safe senders in your email application.

Below you can find the instructions on how to whitelist domains for the most common email providers:

• Microsoft Outlook 

1. 1. Click the gear icon in Outlook and select "View all Outlook settings."
   2. Select "Mail" from the settings menu.
   3. Choose "Junk email" from the submenu.
   4. Click "Add" under "Safe senders and domains."
   5. Enter the email address that you want whitelisted.
   6. Choose "Save."

• Yahoo 

1. 1. Open Yahoo Mail and log into your account.
   2. Navigate to “Settings” then click “More Settings.”
   3. Select “Filters” and hit “Add” to enter the email you'd like to whitelist, in our case, it's the domain @developmentaid.info.
   4. Name the filter and add the domain address.
   5. Select to send all mail to “Inbox.”
   6. Save your settings.

• Gmail 

1. 1. Open Gmail and log into your account.
   2. Navigate to “Settings” icon then select “See all settings”.
   3. Navigate to the tab "Filters and Blocked Addresses".
   4. Click on the button "Create a new filter".
   5. In the field "From" type the domain @developmentaid.info. All the other fields may remain empty.
   6. Click on the button "Create filter" and tick the option "Never send it to Spam".
   7. Then click on the button "Create filter".

• Hotmail

1. 1. Login to your Hotmail, click on the Settings icon at the top right side of the page, expand it, and click on More Mail Settings.
   2. Click on Safe and blocked senders.
   3. Click Safe Senders.
   4. Insert the email address you want to whitelist, then click Add to list. To whitelist every sender from DevelopmentAid, type @developmentaid.info.
   5. The email address has been whitelisted and will skip spam checks by Hotmail.

Additionally, you can contact your service provider or system administrator and request to whitelist the @developmentaid.info domain.
